Come join us for ShelterHacks, the first hackathon for homelessness at Harvard!

Happening on Sat, October 6th from 9AM-9PM at Ticknor Lounge, ShelterHacks aims to improve and add to technical systems used at homeless shelters to make the shelter experience more efficient and painless for guests.

The event is happening in collaboration with the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter and is sponsored by the Harvard Big Data Club, Harvard Computer Society, and the Harvard College Engineering Society.

We are currently welcoming coders and data scientists as well as individuals without technical skills to help out at the event as project-guiders or volunteers. We will have stakeholders to present at the hackathon to guide coders in identifying existing needs in the community.

If you would like to join ShelterHacks-- as a coder, a volunteer or an experienced individual in public service-- please fill out this Google form by Saturday, September 29th.

The opening ceremony will also include a presentation from Tufts’ JumboCode, an organization that recently created an app for the street outreach program of the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter.
